| Corey,
after being presented with a gift for him to give to Bernie Mac.
The idea came from Corey himself, when, after being asked
what he would like to give Bernie Mac as a gift, replied, “A
picture of me!” That’s
so like Corey! |
Nine-year-old Corey wants to be an actor,
and was looking for the right opportunity to “get noticed.”
His favorite actor is also Bernie Mac, so his wish
combined the desire to meet Bernie Mac, AND have a part in his
show.
Fortunately, it was a “snow day”
for Corey (no school due to record amounts of snow in Lincoln)
and he was home when we called to tell him that we had just
received word that his wish was about to come true, and in only
two more days! That
was on a Monday.
The next evening, Corey, his mom, and
older brother, Charles, were treated to dinner, compliments of
Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, Corey’s favorite
restaurant. There
they received the details of their trip before flying to Los
Angeles the next morning, leaving cold and snowy Nebraska for
the warm temps of California.
Corey had a fabulous time on the set
for six hours, being a part of the cast of The
Bernie Mac Show.
He even had his own personalized director’s chair.
The crew and cast were wonderful to Corey and his family,
and promised to let them know when the show airs…we’re told
Corey had a key part in the episode.
Now, look out, Hollywood, for the newest celebrity,
Corey!
