Wish Stories

Megan with her computer.

Megan is 18 years old, and her wish was to receive a laptop computer, along with a special Singer sewing machine that attaches to the laptop and runs computerized programs. With the machinery, Megan can download patterns, stitches and programs … making the creative possibilities endless. Megan's imagination, along with her new computer and sewing machine, can take her just about anywhere.

Megan has been diagnosed with end stage renal failure. She lives in Wisner, Nebraska with her mom and dad, and sisters, Katrina, Melody and Rachel. The entire family participated in Megan's wish. After checking into the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Omaha, they were swept away by a limousine to be the special guests at Cold Stone Creamery. They all loved the ice cream, the clowns, the balloon animal gifts, and especially the extraordinary attention they received. Thank you to Cold Stone Creamery, who sponsored Megan’s wish.

But, that was the “ice cream on the wish,” so to speak. Megan’s wish was granted when she received the laptop computer, the printer and sewing machine. She even received additional software for her new computer.

Megan is off to college in the fall, where she’ll be found carrying her new laptop and sewing machine to class, filled with hope for her future.
